Wendy Longuet – Chairperson

Member of the inaugural committee of Women in Thoroughbred Racing since 2010

Chairperson since 2018

Moved to Darwin after 3 years in Alice Springs from Adelaide originally. Have worked in the Real Estate Industry for over 20 years. Previously attended the Adelaide Cup before moving to the Territory and attended Alice Springs Cup race days.

Bought my first race horse share in Darwin over 25 years ago, and have been a part of Darwin Turf Club ever since.

Favorite racing moment:

Watching your horse win at Fannie Bay any day is exciting, but having  a win through the Carnival just makes the thrill even better.

What do you enjoy most about Racing in the NT?

The Northern Territory is a unique place and the racing industry is a small close-knit community that allows female participants to be treated as equals.  We have a very high female participation rate which we hope to continue with our associations support.
